Accessibility Statement
We believe cooking is for everyone. Here's how we work to make our studio welcoming and accessible.
Savory Craft Culinary Studio is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all guests, including individuals with disabilities. We continuously work to improve our space, services, and communication to meet the diverse needs of our community.
Physical Access
- Entrance: Our studio at 837 NW 23rd Ave has a step-free, ground-level entrance with a wide doorway (36 inches) suitable for wheelchairs and walkers.
- Interior Layout: Aisles between cooking stations are at least 42 inches wide, allowing comfortable navigation. The communal dining table has accessible seating with removable chairs.
- Workstations: We have one dedicated accessible workstation at a lower height (30 inches) with open knee space underneath. Additional stations can be adjusted with advance notice.
- Restroom: Our restroom is ADA-compliant with grab bars, a lowered sink, and sufficient turning space.
- Parking: Accessible street parking is available directly in front of the building. The nearby paid lot at NW 22nd & Lovejoy also has designated accessible spots.
Sensory & Communication Accommodations
- Lighting: Our studio features dimmable warm LED lighting. We can adjust brightness levels upon request.
- Noise: Classes are kept to small groups (maximum 12 participants) to manage noise levels. Background music is played at a low volume and can be turned off if needed.
- Sign Language: While our chefs do not currently include ASL interpreters, we welcome guests who wish to bring their own interpreter. Please let us know in advance so we can reserve space.
- Printed Materials: Recipe booklets are provided in clear, large-print fonts. Digital copies can be emailed ahead of time upon request.
Service Animals
Service animals are warmly welcomed in our studio. Under the ADA, service animals are dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Please note that for food safety reasons, service animals must remain on a leash and close to your workstation rather than in food preparation areas, as required by Oregon Health Authority regulations. We'll gladly provide a comfortable spot nearby.
Allergies & Medical Needs
We understand that food allergies and medical conditions are an access issue. Please see our Dietary Information page for details on how we accommodate dietary restrictions. For any other medical needs, including the need to store medication or take breaks during class, please let our team know so we can plan accordingly.
Requesting Accommodations
We're happy to discuss any specific accommodation you may need to enjoy our classes fully. The more notice we have, the better we can prepare. Please reach out at least one week before your scheduled class for requests that require setup changes.
You can contact us through any of the following methods:
- Phone: (503) 728-4916

- In person: Visit us during studio hours — our staff will be glad to discuss your needs face-to-face.
Feedback & Continuous Improvement
We value your feedback. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for how we can improve, please let us know. We treat all accessibility concerns seriously and will respond within two business days.
